My freshman 2022 cspa

When creating my artwork, I utilize my emotions and past experiences in the concepts. I have been experimenting with many different mediums, allowing me to express my ideas. This year, I have begun to enjoy the concept of controversial ideas in society. I include a lot of movement so the viewer will be more inclined to study my work too. 

I began to experiment with what I found exhilarating. This year, I have had the opportunity to use a variety of materials. Through research and receptiveness, I discovered how to incorporate colors and forms I have never used before into my work. In 2D media studies, I discovered my love for highly saturated colors. I tried to incorporate myself into every work I created this year. I have discovered more about myself and what I want to do with my art. This year I have struggled with the demand for craftsmanship. When creating my work, I want to play with the materials I get and how far I can take my concept. However, I have not used most of the materials like steel, Holga, acrylic, and dura-lar. When I become overcome with the interest in play, I become less concerned with craft. Knowing this, I have been holding myself back and being patient with the material. Understanding how crucial precision is or the outcome of the work will not be strong because I cannot achieve what I want my work to show. I have discovered I am most excited about 3D Design and video. My mind has opened up through the classes; I now realize how flexible an idea can be. 

I believe I am the strongest in 2D media and photo media, plan to work with them more. During the media studies courses, I have found that I am successful in working with color. I use highly saturated colors to convey my ideas. I was successful in working with video and what props I could use to make me interested in the work. The unpredictability is exciting, keeps me on edge, and encourages me to create more.
